Fashion Week Concludes September 15
New York City’s world-famous, bi-annual Fashion Week, which opened on Friday, September 8 in Bryant Park, will conclude on Friday, September 15. The hotly anticipated, closely watched event features the spring 2007 collections of over 60 designers, as well as 28 accessories collections.
Fashion Week opened with the collections of designers such as John Bartlett, Marc Bouwer, and Perry Ellis. Other featured designers include Carolina Herrera, John Varvatos, Oscar de la Renta, Peter Som, and Vivienne Tam.
To kick off the event on opening day, the third annual Fashion Rocks concert at Radio City Music Hall aired, bringing together the inextricably linked worlds of fashion and music. The event aired on CBS on September 8 and featured designer presenters including Donna Karan and Max Azria.
Performers included Beyoncé Knowles, Christina Aguilera, and Kanye West. Elton John, the event curator, also performed; proceeds from tickets sales benefited the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
