TV

America’s Next Top Model
Last month the girls were photographed acting out their four strongest characteristics; shot with past ANTM contestants; and sent to Sydney, Australia to film a CoverGirl commercial while speaking in the local accent.

Sarah, Whitney, and Jael were cut, respectively. The month ended with a recap show of Cycle 8 thus far, including extra footage not previously shown; this month kicks off with the girls modeling swimsuits for both female and male audiences.

Shear Genius
The series debuted on Bravo TV on Wednesday, April 11. It was helmed by host and judge Jaclyn Smith, former Charlie’s Angels actress and clothing and home furnishing designer; fellow judges Michael Carl, fashion director at Allure magazine; René Fris, hairstylist and model; and Sally Hershberger, celebrity hairstylist.

The stylists are competing for the opportunity to style for an Allure magazine shoot, an apprenticeship with Nexxus Salon lead stylist Roy Teeluck, and $100,000.

The first dismissals were made, reducing the pool from 12 to eight. Elimination challenges were to create a hair “work of art” with props from a crafts store; to re-create celebrity hairstyles; and to cut hair with unusual tools including box cutters, craft scissors, and hedge clippers.

Paul-Jean, Jim, Lacey (a surprise dismissal from the shortcut round that preceded the unusual tools elimination), and Theodore were sent home, respectively.
