Project Runway’s Jay McCarroll Designs Charity Shirt
Jay McCarroll, Project Runway‘s first winner, has designed men’s and women’s T-shirts to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, which raises money for childhood cancer research. Five dollars from every shirt sold will go to the foundation.
The organization sprang from a lemonade stand that was started in 2000 by Alexandra “Alex” Scott, then a 4-year-old cancer patient who wanted to raise money for her doctors to find a cure. Inspired by her story, people across the country followed suit. By the time she passed away in 2004, the foundation had raised over $1 million. Over $20 million have been raised to date.
