On Tuesday, October 14, Maguire will publish A Lion Among Men, the third installment in his Wizard of Oz-inspired Wicked Years series. The book, which follows Wicked and Son of a Witch, takes readers back to Oz from the viewpoint of the Cowardly Lion.

Anne Rice debuts her first memoir, Called Out of Darkness: A Spiritual Confession (Random House), on Tuesday, October 7. The book concentrates heavily on Rice’s religious awakening after a lifetime of spiritual uncertainty—an awakening that has been reflected in her more recent work. Nintendo is offering a limited Pink Ribbon edition of its DS Lite, a white console with the pink breast cancer awareness ribbon printed on it. $5 from the sale of each one will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure; the company has committed to a guaranteed minimum donation of $100,000.
