Fragrance Set Fights AIDS

Designers Against AIDS, an organization dedicated to increasing AIDS awareness in the international media and amongst youth, is getting a boost from perfume set Six Scents. The limited edition set is curated by Seven New York’s Joseph Quartana and features scents by designers Alexandre Herchcovitch, Bernhard Willhelm, Cosmic Wonder Light Source, Gareth Pugh, Jeremy Scott, and Preen; a portion of the proceeds go to DAA.

Denis Leary at Borders: November 18

Comedian and actor Denis Leary will visit the Penn Plaza Borders on Tuesday, November 18 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss his book, Why We Suck: A Feel Good Guide to Staying Fat, Loud, Lazy and Stupid, in which he takes potshots at everything from celebrity to religion to politics.

Toni Morrison at Barnes & Noble: November 17

Pulitzer Prize-winning author Toni Morrison will visit the Union Square Barnes & Noble on Monday, November 17 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss her latest novel, A Mercy (Knopf). Set in the 1680s during the early days of American slavery, the book centers on Jacob, an Anglo-Dutch trader and reluctant slave owner; and Florens, his young slave.
