Trailer for Confessions of a Shopaholic; Sophie Kinsella Hits Barnes & Noble

On Wednesday, February 4 at 7:00 p.m., Sophie Kinsella will visit the 82nd & Broadway Barnes & Noble to discuss the upcoming movie Confessions of a Shopaholic, which is based on two of her books—Confessions of a Shopaholic and Shopaholic Takes Manhattan. Visit the Barnes & Noble event page for details.

The books’ protagonist, Becky Bloomwood, is a Londoner whose out-of-control shopping debt forces her to make drastic changes in her life. The movie, which opens Friday, February 13, shifts the story to Manhattan and stars Isla Fisher, Hugh Dancy, Krysten Ritter, Joan Cusack, John Goodman, and John Lithgow.

Humorous novelist Christopher Moore pokes fun at Shakespeare’s King Lear with Fool (HarperCollins). Moore inserts his own original character, a court jester named Pocket, into the classic story of the king and his three daughters. The book hits shelves on Tuesday, February 10.
