Actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors; August Rush; Bend It Like Beckham), the face of Hugo Boss‘ men’s fragrances, will visit the Herald Square Macy’s to promote the new scent HUGO ELEMENT. He will appear on Friday, January 30 at 5:00 p.m. in the Fragrance Arcade. The first 300 customers who buy the scent ($65) will get a photo taken with him.

Melinda Maria Jewelry is offering a limited edition necklace to benefit the Whaleman Foundation, which aims to protect whales, dolphins, and the ocean from harmful human practices. The jewelry has been worn by foundation spokesperson Hayden Panettiere, as well as Eva Longoria, Anne Hathaway, Pink, and Diane Lane. A portion of the sales will go to the cause.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is the prequel to Underworld and Underworld: Evolution. The movie delves into the longstanding war between the vampire and werewolf clans. Michael Sheen and Bill Nighy return as Lucian and Viktor, respectively. Opening Friday, January 23.

Lost’s fifth season premieres on Wednesday, January 21 at 8:00 p.m. on ABC with a clip-show followed by two new episodes. Episodes in the subsequent weeks will run at 9:00 p.m.
The fifth season delves into why the Oceanic Six must go back to the island. Returning actors include Daniel Dae Kim (Jin), Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliet), Emilie de Ravin (Claire), Evangeline Lilly (Kate), Harold Perrineau (Michael), Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond), Jorge Garcia (Hurley), Josh Holloway (Sawyer), Matthew Fox (Jack), Michael Emerson (Ben), Naveen Andrews (Sayid), Terry O’Quinn (Locke), and Yunjin Kim (Sun).

The 92nd Street Y will present a conversation between filmmaker John Waters (Hairspray; Pink Flamingos) and Robert Storr, Dean of the Yale University School of Art. The event will take place on Tuesday, March 31 at 8:15 p.m. Waters will discuss the artwork from his upcoming New York exhibition, which will feature photography and related media.

In observance of Abraham Lincoln’s February 12 birthday, filmmaker Ken Burns will visit the Park Avenue Borders on Friday, February 13 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss his 1990 masterpiece documentary The Civil War. Burns will also autograph attendees’ Civil War DVD set.
