iFashion Network Fall 2010 Fashion Week Showcase was invited to attend iFashion Network‘s Emerging Designers Fall 2010 Fashion Week Showcase on Tuesday, February 16. The intimate event, held at Manhattan lounge Nikki Beach, played to a pleased crowd as it spotlighted up-and-coming designers Theo Hackney (Theo Courtnay), Ewelina Barlak (Ewelina B.), and Carmelita Martell (Carmelita Couture).

Hackney took a page from art deco designer Erte for his collection. Chic, sophisticated suits and separates echoed the 1930s and 40s with simple but strong shapes, ideal for women with a classic sense of style. There were numerous neutral pieces with bright ones sprinkled throughout, such as his colbalt blue wool woven coat and colbalt blue jersey dress (above, left).

Inspired by Scarlett O’Hara, Barlak’s collection suited women with a romantic streak: It was ultra-feminine, with classic shapes offset by surprising details. Several designs were high on old-fashioned glamour, like her crème silk dress and crème wool bolero jacket (above, center).

Martell’s “warrior woman” collection was meant to recall the supermodel era of the 1990s and was definitely not for the meek. Many of the unabashedly bold designs were metallic and figure-hugging, such as her black-banded beige lyrca mini (above, right). Her previous designs have been worn by Paula Abdul and Kourtney Kardashian.

In addition to planning these events, iFashion Network offers trends, photos, news, and community forums on its Web site.
