Undead and Unwelcome is the eighth book in MaryJanice Davidson’s Undead series, which follows suburban vampire queen Betsy Taylor. In this outing, Betsy takes the body of her werewolf friend to Cape Cod and wonders how the werewolf clan there will receive her. At the same time, back home, her half-sister is starting to act very strangely.
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth) and author Chuck Hogan (Prince of Thieves) present The Strain, the first novel in their Strain Trilogy, in which a vampiric virus infects New York and threatens to spread across the globe. CDC doctor Eph Goodweather and former professor Abraham Setrakian join a small group of people who are scrambling to stop the virus. The book will be published on Tuesday, June 2.

In Pixar’s latest animated feature, Up, balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen (Ed Asner) ties thousands of balloons to his house and sets off to find adventure in South America—only to later discover that an 8-year-old boy named Russell (Jordan Nagai) has snuck in for the ride. Other voices provided by Christopher Plummer (Charles Muntz), John Ratzenberger (Construction Foreman Tom), and Delroy Lindo (Beta).

Anna Sui and Koi Suwannagate have designed limited edition T-shirts to be sold by Nordstrom in honor of May, Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. Nordstrom will donate all after-costs proceeds to the scholarship program of the Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA), which is committed to improving the welfare of Asian Pacific Americans in the United States.

Singer/actress Vanessa Williams will visit the Columbus Circle Borders on Tuesday, June 2 at 7:00 p.m. to promote and autograph her upcoming album, The Real Thing, which contains original jazz- and Brazilian-influenced songs. Terminator: Salvation, the fourth installment in the Terminator franchise, takes place in 2018. Controlled by artifical intelligence network Skynet, terminators rule the post-apocalytpic world, killing any humans they find. John Connor (Christian Bale) tries to defeat Skynet with the help of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a man from the past. Also starring Moon Bloodgood, Helena Bonham Carter, and Bryce Dallas Howard. Opening Friday, May 22.
